  • Elks raise $12,000+ for scholarships

  • Lake of the Ozarks lodge #2517 hosted the annual Charity Golf Tournament at Eldon Country Club on May 18.
    There was a tie in the first flight with Ed Cunningham, Bob Melville, Lou Gianino, and Nate Carr. Also scoring a 58 for first place were Dr. McIntyre, Mark Eastman, Max Joyce and Stuart Eastman.
    The Sunley team placed third with a 59, and tying for fourth with a 67 were the Herbst and Hackett teams.
    Capturing first place in the second flight were three teams with a score of 70. Don and Nancy Sappington and Louise and Greg Grill; Joe and Pat Ebers, Sam Sunley and Ryan Evans; and Jim Street Sharon Davidson and Jim and Vickie DeMartini.
    The Calvert team scored a 71 for fourth place.
    Tying for fifth place with a 73 were the Denoon and Vielhaber teams.
    Earning prize money for longest drives were Ed Cunningham, Vickie Denoon and Don Frazier.
    Judy Gruninger and Bob Johnson had the longest putts.
    Closest to hole number three was Joe Ebers, hole number six was Davin Sunley and hole number 17 was Stuart Eastman.
    Winning the putting contest was Pat Maher. More than $12,500 was raised for the scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to local students.
