  • Two weeks after the “official” spades of dirt were turned for the School of the Osage Heritage Building ground breaking, construction crews began the initial phase of the massive renovation and expansion Monday, June 3. Voters approved a $22 million bond issue in April that will fund the project, which calls for transforming the iconic building to a state-of-the-art lower elementary school to replace Mills Elementary, other classrooms and administrative offices. Ittner Architects and SM Wilson are project architects and managers, and say the building should be ready for occupancy for the 2014-15 school year.
