  • Kids are invited to join the 4-H Club in Camden County for some "reel" fun at a 4-H day camp on sports fishing this summer.
The club is hosting a sports fishing camp from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, July 11.
Kids can enjoy tackle crafting, making pop can rigs and a fly wallet. They'll also learn to identify Missouri fish. They'll get to share some fish tales while fishing and sharpen their angling skills, learning the basic techniques to catch fish.
After all that fishing, the group will relax poolside in the afternoon for some fun in the sun.
The camp will be held at Windermere in Roach. Class size is limited to 20 and is for ages 8-12. Fishing poles and bait are provided. Campers need to bring a sack lunch and drink. Snacks are provided.
Registration deadline is June 15. For more information, call 573-346-2644 or email camdenco@missouri.edu.
