I've just seen a headline on CNN news that says the Republican Party is too narrow minded, too conservative, too white, and made up of stuffy old men! They are doing an "autopsy" on why the Republican Party is losing. So what are some people wanting to do? Make the Republican Party more liberal! After all, we must be fair to everybody! (Oh brother!) In so many words, this seems to say: give in to irresponsible spending, give in to more irresponsible leadership making irresponsible promises they can't keep.
Let it be known that the Republican Party was founded in the 1850's (I believe). Then it was known as the "Republican Whigs". It's foundations were rationality and righteousness; it consisted of men who took a determined stand against slavery and upheld the beliefs, philosophies, and convictions of our Founding Fathers that came from Puritan New England which it has become ever so evident that Father God chose to become the cradle of our Judea-Christian Republic.
Is the Republican Party too liberal? Not yet, but it's getting that way fast! The main enemy is compromise. Liberal life styles, liberal spending, affairs, "back room" deals, and many other elements are fast destroying the beauty, quality and loyalty of the Republican message and foundation. This is what the Tea Party is trying to stand up and fight for. Maybe they're making mistakes, but at least they're showing the courage to stand up and put up a fight.
Are Republicans too conservative? I, myself, do not think so. "To be conservative" implies "to be responsible" to live within your means and do not spend money you do not have. Now I'll admit I don't think every individual Republican practices this, but then maybe that's why some of them are in so much trouble with that darned credit card!
Are we stuffy old men? Well, I'll leave that one up to you. I'll admit that Republicans are human beings and we fit the full spectrum of life.
Are we narrow minded? I feel we should be. Also, I feel that we need to get more narrow minded concerning, "right is right and wrong is wrong" and also on spending money we don't have. We have already financially enslaved our children down to the fifth generation of our descendants. This has got to stop! I have more to say on this in my next letter.
