  • Harold “Hal” Dolby, 66 passed away at his home in Eldon on May 31, 2013.
    Hal was born April 26, 1947 in Columbia, Missouri to Richard V. and Constance S. (Atherton) Dolby. March 30, 1974 he was married in Alton, Missouri to Charlotte R. (Tusher) who survives at their home.
    Hal was a 1965 graduate of Eldon High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy from November 1966 until his honorable discharge in August 1970. Hal was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, MO and was active in numerous civic organizations in the community. He served as Alderman for the City of Eldon from 1990 – 1996.
    Survivors include his wife Becky; son Matt, daughter in law Jolene, their children Lauren and Colton; daughter Martha, son in law Shawn Wood, their son Peyton; father Dick Dolby; Aunt Joan Enloe; and numerous nieces and nephews and their familys. Hal was preceded in death by his mother and sister Elizabeth Calvert.
    Visitation will be on Sunday June 2, 2013 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
    Funeral Mass will be Monday June 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, MO with Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating where Full Military Honors will be provided by the Eldon VFW Post #2442 of Eldon, MO following the Funeral Mass.
    Private Family Interment will be held at the Eldon City Cemetery at a later date.
    Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
