Multiple agencies have responded to Eldon to aid in the search for an adolescent who was swept away by quickly rising water on Friday night. Responders believe the child might have been swept into a drainage pipe. Reports came in earlier this evening as torrential downpours swept across the lake area. Heavy rain has hindered the search efforts. Eldon police said that the report made to the department was sketchy. The search is being aided by the Missouri Highway Patrol Water Patrol division. Drainage ditches and streets in Eldon are flooded with storm water, as more than two inches of rain has fallen, so the responders are using cameras to search the drainage pipes. The name of the adolescent has not been released at this time.
