  • Heartland Worship Center will host an information meeting for the community to learn about the Lake West Christian Academy, a four-year-old kindergarten through 12th grade school. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 10 at the church in Camdenton. The meeting is an opportunity for students, parents, grandparents and supporters to hear the vision and mission of the academy.
Academy Dean Nick Stutesman will discuss the academies vision, curriculum, new bus transportation program, sports program and low tuition.
Homeschool students are welcome to participate in classes and the sports program which includes cheerleading, girls volleyball and boys and girls basketball.
    Academy vision
LWCA provides academics in the classical tradition. “Bob Jones University curriculum has a proven track record, is results oriented, and gives students an excellent foundation in mathematics, language arts, science and history,” said LWCA lead teacher Sharon Rockley.
“The academy desires to give students a vision of their potential for excellence and help equip them to achieve their callings and dreams,” said Stutesman.
The academy’s scripture is; Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7.
    Academy difference
“When you walk into LWCA, you notice a difference. The atmosphere is positive, uplifting and contagious. Without the environmental distractions students are able to focus on learning and growing,” added Rockley.
“We believe that Christ-like character traits and leadership qualities contribute greatly to a student’s success in life. Self-discipline and respect for oneself and others are emphasized in all areas,” said Stutesman.
The academy offers cheerleading, girls volleyball and boys and girls basketball for sixth through twelfth grade. Also during the winter months they host the Upward Sports basketball and cheerleading for kindergarten through sixth grade. Homeschool students are welcome to participate in the sports programs.
