Dwight Russell Woods who was born on May 30, 1953, has moved from 502 Marquis Ave., Versailles, Missouri on, May 19, 2013. His parents, Alfred Joe and Dorothy Woods have preceded him in death.
There, he is reunited with his grandparents, Walter and Ethel Christian, Ross and Myra Woods, his uncles, Charles (Benny) Edward, Clarence and Wallace (Bus) Christian, Robert (Bob) Woods, his aunt, Della Ware and one nephew, William Jordan (Jordy) Snorgrass. Dwight (Ro Ro) sadly leaves behind at his passing, his children: Angela Woods of Frisco, Texas, Tasha Woods of Kansas City, Missouri, Jason and Alicia Woods of Versailles, Missouri and one grandson, D’Eric Woods (Kansas City, Missouri and the family pet (Saki).
Russell was a member and a deacon of the Second Baptist Church of Versailles. After twenty-five years in the optical business, he retired and later owned and operated, “All Season’s Janitorial Service” in Versailles. He was self-taught in business administration, economics and in analytical problem solving.
“The Woods’ Family Reunion” IS pending and the “R.S.V.P.” of Russell’s remaining brothers and sisters, Alfred and Linda Woods of Hammon, Indiana, Annetta and William Snorgrass of Kansas City, Missouri, Walter and Tami Woods of Versailles, Robert Woods and Sandra of Jefferson City, Missouri, brother Joseph Woods of Springfield, Missouri, brother Calvin Woods, and sisters Myra Woods and Trish Chism, of Versailles. Lastly, his last surviving uncle, David Woods of the Golden Age Living Center in Stover, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Russell’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 24th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Reverends Robert Ross and William Snorgrass officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Lupus Foundation of America Heartland Chapter. A private family graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Versailles Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
