Served as an election judge
Erna Louise Jones, age 94, of Gravois Mills, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at her home. She was born August 26, 1918, in Richmond, Missouri, a daughter of the late John and Martha Smith Jenkins.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Jones, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1993.
After retiring to the lake, she served as an election judge for 35 years. She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie where she was also a member of the Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rene Griffith; sons, Clarence Roy Jones and wife Mary Catherine and Stephen David Jones and wife Mary Jane; four grandchildren, Ben, Jessica, Carrie and Marley; two great-granddaughters, Olivia Jane and Aubrianna; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andy Jones, her brothers, Jack Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Jimmie Jenkins, Bernie Jenkins and Lloyd Jenkins and sisters, Frances Pierce and Rosamond Harris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23rd, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Dolan celebrating. Graveside services and interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the church.
