Lois Merle Nanomantube, 78, of Sunrise Beach, Mo. peacefully passed away with her sons and their wives present on May 19, 2013 at the Columbia University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Lois was born on May 29, 1934 to Ruth and Earl Frederick in Rulo, Neb.
Lois grew up in the Falls City-Rulo area of Nebraska where she attended school, was head cheerleader and graduated from Rulo High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Wayne A. Nanomantube on Aug. 3, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan., where they lived until moving to Fremont, Calif. in 1964. Lois was the definition of a perfect mother. She was a dedicated, nurturing and loving mother who provided everything needed by her two sons, Tom and Steve Nanomantube. She even sacrificed her own needs so that both sons could attend and graduate from college. Lois worked as data center manager at the Washington Memorial Hospital in Fremont, Calif. until her retirement in 1989 when she and husband Wayne continued their journey together and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks at Sunrise Beach. In 2002, only two weeks short of their 50th wedding anniversary, her husband Wayne was recruited to heaven. Lois was a Charter Member and dedicated church group leader at the West Lake Christian Church and for years sent care packages to our troops overseas. Lois was an avid supporter of animal protection and rights.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Allen Nanomantube and wife Kathy of New Bloomfield, Mo. and Thomas Wayne Nanomantube and wife Brenda of Monrovia, Calif.; two sisters, Norma Street of Florida and Ginny Hager of Oregon; one grandson, Michael A. Christiansen, Roseville, Calif. and granddaughter Shandy E. Nanomantube, Folsom, Calif.
God has called for Lois (Mom) and she will be greatly missed by anyone who had the honor to know her.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 23 at West Lake Christian Church in Laurie, Mo. Please call the church for time and details.
