Area patients who are at risk for lymphedema are invited to participate in a class offered each month by Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.
“Lymphedema 101” is a one-hour course offered to patients who currently are undergoing cancer treatment or surgical procedures that put them at risk for developing lymphedema, a swelling in the limbs that can develop when the lymphatic system is damaged.
The class meets 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Lake Regional Cancer Center Resource Room. Lunch will be provided.
The course will be presented by Denise Hagemann, OTR/L, and Amberly Wiese, MOT R/L, CLT, and will review subjects such as monitoring, prevention and treatment options.
