The Lake of the Ozarks will be the host of a Missouri State Championship, KCBS sanctioned barbeque competition and blues music weekend.
On Friday, May 17, barbeque competitors from all over will converge in the parking lot at 1000 Bagnell Dam Blvd. by Bagnell Dam, set up their grills and smokers, and cook through the night. Saturday afternoon judging will take place and at 5 p.m. with trophies and more than $10,000 awarded to the first five places in seven categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork, beef brisket, dessert, people’s choice and Kid’s Q. Prizes will also be awarded for local restaurant, Grand and Reserve Grand Champions. The Grand Champion winner becomes eligible for invitation to The Jack Daniel’s World Championship and The American Royal World Series of Barbeque.
