  • Trailing 3-0 after five innings, the Lakers had all but been written off in their Tuesday night match against Helias.
But two runs in the sixth revived the Lakers, trailing 3-2 after the end of the inning. Two RBI's from Dylan Hymes in the seventh inning would push the Lakers, giving them a 6-3 lead, their first of the game.
All they needed was to hold the Crusaders back for one more half of an inning.
The Lakers allowed just one more run, giving them their second consecutive seventh inning rally in the tournament. It was yet another great comeback for the Camdenton team.
Camdenton used three hits, all of them singles, to score its six runs. Helias walked four batters and committed seven errors in the final two innings in a meltdown of epic proportions.
And just like that, Camdenton had not only knocked out both the number two and three seeded Jefferson City teams from the tournament, but they also claimed a shot at the district title on Wednesday against number one seeded Rock Bridge.
Not bad for the number six seed.
The Lakers return to play on Wednesday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at Vivion Field in Jefferson City.
