The Camdenton Police Department, with support from the Camdenton R-III School District and the Camdenton Optimist Club, will be sponsoring our 4th Annual Junior Police Academy from June 17 – 21, at Camdenton High School.
The academy's objective is a week of education and fun through a Police Academy format. The week long curriculum will include various presentations from guest emergency service agencies, hands on practices, and physical training, to give the cadets an idea of what is involved in becoming a Police Officer as well as a supportive citizen of the community. The last day of the academy will consist of a Mock Crime Scene in which the cadets will gather information about the crime, gather evidence from the scene, and fill out their report.
Enrollment for the Academy will be restricted to the first eligible 25 application packets received. All applicants must be between the ages of 10 and 13 by the start date of the academy.
Applications may be picked up at the Camdenton Police Department or Oak Ridge Elementary School during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All returned applications and attached waivers/releases should be filled out completely. Any application returned that is not filled out completely, or as instructed, may be subject to disqualification from the Academy. Completed Applications must be turned in by May 17 at 4 p.m.
The public is invited to attend a Graduation Ceremony for the cadet's on Friday June 21 at 1 p.m. at the Little Theatre on the Camdenton R-III Campus.
