  • The Eldon Career Center will hold an open house at the home the students in the Building Trades Program constructed and have available for purchase. The open house will be Wednesday, May 15 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the construction site located at 1201 South Maple in Eldon. The house is located directly behind Paul’s Supermarket. The 1720 square foot of living space in the home features three bedrooms, stainless steel appliances, custom oak kitchen cabinets, ceramic tile, and a cathedral ceiling in the great room. The exterior includes low maintenance vinyl siding, brick front with stone corner accents, with a sod yard to be installed at a later date. An additional 528 square foot of space is included in the attached garage, which is 16 feet wide and has a door opener installed. The carpet will also be installed after the purchaser selects its style and color.
Kevin Otto, the instructor of the Building Trades Program will be on-hand to answer questions pertaining to how the house was constructed.
The house will be sold to the highest bidder. The bids must be made in writing and submitted in person to the Secretary of the Board of Education on the required form. The minimum acceptable bid price is $139,000 for the completed home. New bids may be submitted by bidding a minimum of $500 over the previous bid. Before being declared “sold”, the bid must stand for five working days. Bid sheets will be available at the open house or at the Eldon Career Center. For more information or to arrange a viewing appointment, please contact Willard Haley at the Eldon Career Center at 392-8018.
