  • Saturday night out: "Escapology show" coming to Royal Theatre

  • Prepare to be wowed and amazed as entertainer Mario Mancini brings his "escapology show" to Versailles Saturday night. On May 11, Mancini will present "A Tribute to Houdini" at the Royal Theatre on the square downtown.
    The show features escapes from a strait-jacket, many pairs of handcuffs and locked chains while tied inside a sack with a 100 foot rope tied to a chair. The act also includes a comedy rope wrist rope ties, a floating illusion, Hindu Sword basket Illusion and comedy magic effects. It's a full 90 minute family-style show for all ages with lots of audience participation.
    A Tribute to Houdini will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are also $10 for adults and $5 for students and children ages 3-18.

    Manzini has appeared on "The David Letterman Show," "The Tonight Show" and many major TV shows and specials. He has also performed at Caesar's Casino in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He has escaped from 26 locked prison and jail cells after challenging prison officials to lock him in their strongest maximum security cells. In addition, he has jumped off of bridges handcuffed and escaped while underwater.
