The Water Patrol is looking for the boat’s owner
Authorities are still looking for the owner of a 1990 Formula boat that was found abandoned at the one and a half mile marker of the Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend.
Rain and snow came down around the lake on Friday night along with a light wind and air temperature of a chilly 32 degrees. Despite the winter-like weather in May, the boat "Behr Necessity, Port of Defiance, Missouri" was taken out for a joy ride.
Water Patrol was notified around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 that the boat had washed up on a rocky shoreline.
Passengers were found inside and were not injured after what appeared to be a late night cruise around the lake.
Tow Boat US and divers were able to get the boat back in the water and safely transport it to Berger's Marina in Lake Ozark.
According to Stacey Mosher with Highway Patrol, the boat was not registered to the owner. Highway Patrol is still investigating the situation and is attempting to contact the owner.
