The Camdenton Lady Lakers hosted the Joplin Lady Eagles on Thursday night, and despite some cold and rainy conditions, the team took to the field for an early start for their senior night game.
The Lady Lakers looked to send out their seniors with a bang, and it all began with a quick lead as senior Miriam Taylor exploded on the night, scoring three goals, which pushed her to 101 goals over her stellar high school career, and the Lady Lakers led Joplin 3-0 at the half.
The team continued to press the Eagles offensively in the second half, scoring another three goals from fellow senior Megan Weber, who used her head to put a corner kick in the net and a goal each from Whitney Snow and Faith Scheidemantle.
After 80 minutes of play, the Lady Lakers emerged the victors with a 6-0 shutout.
The team then honored their three seniors, Miriam Taylor, Megan Weber and Alycia Buchanan and their parents before a tearful embrace took place with the team at centerfield.
After the ceremony, the JV squad took the field and knocked off the opposing Lady Eagles with a 3-0 win.
