  • Thursday night proved to be a tough one for the Lady Indians. The Osage team traveled to take on Sacred Heart on the road in a match that could potentially be a state quarterfinal match in the post-season this year.
The Lady Indians have been battling the weather all season long, but their newest opponent has been injuries, claiming Dee Lewin and Alexa Pittenger from the field. And without Hannah Bashore in the match against a tough Sacred Heart team, the Lady Indians were down three starters.
Despite all of that, the Lady Indians took an early lead on a goal from Josie Verslues, leading 1-0. They maintained that lead throughout the first half, and almost to the end of the second half.
With eight minutes left in the second half, Sacred Heart managed to score on a winded Osage defense, and a few moments later, stole the lead, which they held on to for a 2-1 win over the Lady Indians.
The Lady Indians are now 14-4 with two games left on the season before hosting the district tournament.
