The 62nd annual observance of the National Day of Prayer at Lake of the Ozarks was held Thursday morning at Central Bank in Osage Beach.
Despite a strong northwest wind and temperatures around 50, the half-hour program included prayers and musical salutes.
Jim Judas, president of Central Bank, welcomed the group and shared a personal moment about his daily dedication to prayer.
The program included:
Pledge of Allegiance, John Porth; History of the Day, Mary Adkisson; singing of "Lead Me to the Cross" by Nicole Fanning; prayers for federal leaders by Jack Funderburk, for Supreme Court justices by Todd Rader, state leaders by Mike Long, local leaders by Joe Roeger, local businesses by Chris Rahmoeller, schools and churches by the Rev. Buck Cueni-Smith, arts/entertainment/media by Greg Olsen and Armed Forces by Tom Smith. "God Bless America" was sung by the entire group and Kathy Herx provided a closing prayer for the nation.
