  • As the spring sports season begins to wind down, the weather finally turned and gave the School of the Osage tennis team a beautiful day Monday for a match.
The match ended in the Indians' favor, as they trounced Helias Catholic 7-2.
Number one junior Thomas Uhl, who is working towards another state playoff berth to match his 2012 season, had no trouble defeating Helias' number one player.
"He playing really hard," Coach Scott Blacksher commented during the match. "He doesn't show it, but he's very intense."
Uhl came out on top 8-0.
The other singles winners were junior Adam Keith, who won 8-2, junior Ryan Curran with an 8-0 victory and freshman Jordan Wilson, who took his match 8-2.
The Indians swept the doubles round, with Keith and Curran winning 8-1 in the number one slot, Uhl and Wilson winning 8-0 in the number two position, and senior Garrett Grasshoff and freshman Adam Schoening winning 8-5, in what Blacksher called "their best doubles match of the season."
Osage played Salem Tuesday, completing their match after the Lake Sun press deadline and will end the regular season at Richland Thursday.
Osage will begin district play May 6, facing off against Boonville, Mashall, Sacred Heart and Father Tolton Catholic.
