The Camdenton Lakers traveled to Joplin on Tuesday night and after trailing 3-0 through the first four innings, the Lakers found themselves on the board with two runs after they got things going offensively in the top of the 5th.
Still trailing 3-2, Camdenton held Joplin to no runs in the bottom of the fifth. Needing a run to tie the game, Camdenton once again found runners on base, before Tristan Starkey came to bat. Starkey hit a double, batting in two runs to take the lead, which would prove to be the game-winning hit.
Brett Lange pitched the win with five strikeouts, while Cory Simpson picked up the save. Starkey led the team with two RBI, while Simpson finished with one. Both Starkey and Jake Voorhees hit a double in the game, while Tyler Cunningham had a triple.
The JV squad fell in a 2-0 loss to the Eagles.
Camdenton is 8-8 on the season, and now prepares for a Thursday night game against Hillcrest at home.
The Mustangs traveled north on Tuesday night to Fulton, taking part in the 19th annual Fulton Tournament. Facing Fatima early in the afternoon, the Mustangs struggled to get things going against a tough Comets' team, who defeated the Mustangs in a 11-1 win.
Jesse Carman had the only RBI for the Mustangs in the game. Wyatt Suling pitched the loss.
The Mustangs bounced back in their next game, though, picking up a 10-7 win over Fulton in nine innings. Chris Hulsey started off the game for the Mustangs, throwing a whopping 123 pitches and eight strikeouts, but Dylan Wood's heroics saved the game for the Mustangs. The Mustangs had six different players finish with and RBI each in the win.
The Indians hosted the Salem Tigers on Tuesday afternoon. After singles play, the
dual was tied at 3-3. Osage’s Thomas Uhl, Adam Keith, and Ryan Curran won for Osage. Osage swept the doubles, making the final score 6-3. The best match of the day was at one doubles, in which Keith and Curran played a strong Salem team. By taking control of the net, Osage's duo prevailed to win 10-8.
