The trio were arrested for the murder of Freddie and Carol Wilson at the couple's home on Dorsey Lane.
Police arrested the Mitchells and Spellmeyer as they were driving in the area of the residence. As deputies approached the Wilson's home, a white van with the three suspects inside swerved across the road to hit a patrol car. The three were taken into custody after the ensuing accident.
At the scene of the accident, officers reportedly recovered a .32 caliber hand gun and a bottle of Hydrocodone belonging to Carol Wilson. Court documents state that police noted blood on Spellmeyer's hands and clothing. A .32 caliber casing was also recovered at the scene of the murders.
Court documents state that in an interview with detectives Spellmeyer confessed to shooting the gun and inflicting knife wounds on Freddie Wilson. He reportedly claimed that "they made me do it."
In court documents, police reported that the Mitchells said they drove Spellmeyer to the Wilson's residence to obtain drugs but did not enter the home. They reportedly claimed hearing gunshots shortly after Spellmeyer went into the residence.
