Three event highlights
1 One of the lake’s largest events of the year — the 16th Annual Spring Harbor Hop — kicks off the boating season Saturday, May 4. Dozens of waterfront restaurants and marinas will be set up as checkpoints for participants to draw a card and try and win the best and worst hands.
2 Enter the Harbor Hop by stopping at any of the checkpoints, some of which open as early as 9 a.m. Most open at 10 or 11 a.m. To obtain a hand, sign up and pay an optional $15 donation (per seven-card hand). The first card is drawn at the checkpoint where the hand is purchased; six additional cards are obtained by "hopping" to six more checkpoints drawing one card, per hand, at each location. The hand is complete when the seventh card is drawn.
3 The Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau will retain 60 percent for administering the program and promoting tourism to the Lake of the Ozarks. Forty percent will be paid to the participants in the form of gift certificates.
