It's been a hectic year for all of the sports, due to the unpredictable weather, but perhaps no teams have had it worse than the local golf teams. Competing through snow and rain over the course of the season, on waterlogged courses, it's been an interesting experience for the teams to say the least.

On Monday, three of the lake area teams competed in their district tournaments, with Camdenton competing in the Class 4 District 5 tournament in Willard and Osage and Eldon competing in the Class 3 District 4 Tournament in Moberly.

The Camdenton Lakers managed to send through two to sectionals, with Braden Demark taking fifth overall with a score of 77, and Seth Crockett finishing just inside the cut with an 89.

Rock Bridge took first with a team score of 311, while Rolla claimed the other sectional team spot with a 330. Willard came in third at 333.

The Lakers' next challenge will be the sectional tournament played at Eagle Knoll in Jefferson City on Monday, May 6.

Osage and Eldon had a tough competition awaiting them at Moberly, and though Osage finished with a higher team score (424), Eldon was the team who managed to send a golfer through to sectionals. Braden Atkinson finished with an 87 to qualify for sectionals as an individual for the Mustangs.

Eldon rounded out the competition in 11th place with a 436, while Osage came in at 10th with a 424. For Osage, finishers were Skyler Slack (36th, 100), Matthew Lehenbauer (38th, 102), Zachary Curran (46th, 116) and Austin Hansen (47th, 117). On Eldon, the finishers included Tanner Atteberry (45th, 113), Bailey Myers (48th, 116), Torryn Shurts (50th, 130) and Rebecca Armstrong (52nd, 135).
