Karen Consalus Price, a 1975 graduate of the University of Missouri, has been elected President of Pi Beta Phi Foundation’s Board of Trustees, effective July 1, 2013. As President, Price will lead an 11-member board, volunteers and staff to achieve the Foundation’s strategic priorities and mission. Price has held many leadership positions for both Pi Beta Phi Fraternity and Pi Beta Phi Foundation.
“Karen has a depth and breadth of Pi Phi knowledge and experience that will serve the Foundation well,” President Kathy Nevill said. “She and the board will continue to work together to ensure the Foundation strengthens and maximizes its support for the Fraternity and its members.”
Price joined the Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2011 and currently serves as Vice President Finance, where she chairs the Investment and Audit Committee as well as the Emma Harper Turner Committee, which grants financial aid to members in need.
Prior to volunteering for the Foundation, Price served the Fraternity in a variety of leadership positions, including Director Finance, Grand Vice President Philanthropy, Grand Vice President Finance and as an Ex-Officio Foundation Trustee. She also currently serves on the Alumnae Advisory Committee for the Missouri Alpha Chapter at the University of Missouri.
“Our Fraternity leaders recognized the need to establish Pi Beta Phi Foundation in 1990 to expand the existing support for our members and the communities they serve,” Price said. “In the last 23 years, the Foundation’s support has grown substantially for scholarships, leadership development, literacy programs and Emma Harper Turner grants. It is an honor and privilege for me to be able to serve as President and be a part of the Foundation’s continued growth as we carry out our mission to help ensure the future of our sisterhood.”
Price is currently Business Administrator for Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri.
