Local roads throughout the area are seeing flooding at small bridges and low water crossings as well as at dips in the roadway.
With the ground saturated from recent previous rains and steady showers beginning late Wednesday evening and continuing Thursday, the three counties of the lake area are in a flood warning until 6 p.m. April 18.
A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. As of 9:50 a.m., the Missouri Department of Transportation reported road closings due to flooding across state routes in northern Morgan and Hickory counties.
Local roads throughout the area are also seeing flooding at small bridges and low water crossings as well as at dips in the roadway.
Do not attempt to cross these areas, advises the National Weather Service. Never try to cross a flowing stream - even a small one - either on foot or in a vehicle.
