  • Kathrine Pemberton, daughter of Robert and Roberta Pemberton, earned her 2nd Gold Cup from the National Federation of Music Clubs, Sunday March 3, in Jefferson City, Mo. Kathrine, known as Katie to friends and family, lives with her family at Rocky Mount and is a freshman at School of the Osage, where she is involved in Band, Jazz Band, Choir, FTA and Math Club.
Katie received her 1st Gold Cup in 2009 as a Primary IV; 2nd Gold Cup was received as a level Elementary III. It takes a total of 15 points for one Gold Cup, with a maximum of 5 points possible each year. Katie has earned a total accumulation of 31 points, giving her 30 points for the 2nd Gold Cup + 1 point toward a possible 3rd. (It will take 45 accumulated points.)
Katie has taken piano lessons from Elaine Wilson at Wilson Music for four years this June and from Christinea (Wall) Schwarzer three years before that. She plays some piano in her church, Blue Springs Baptist Church, who also sponsors her lessons.
