On April 4, the Eldon Police and Fire Department responded to a home in Eldon for a report of a 2-month-old baby that was unresponsive.
Upon arrival the Eldon Fire Department and Miller County Ambulance transported the child to Lake Regional Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol DDCC (division of Drug and Crime Control) was asked to respond. The case has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
As a result of part of the investigation conducted by the Eldon Police Department, The Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, warrants were obtained for two persons for drug violations. They are Graham Bond and Elizabeth Burnett, both of Eldon. Both Bond and Burnett were charged with Count 1, Class C felony of endangering the welfare of a child; Count 2, Class B Felony of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute; Count 3, Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance; and Count 4, maintaining or keeping a public nuisance.
Both bonds were set at $100,000.
The investigation into the death of the two month old is still under investigation.
