Camdenton R-III School District swept the Internet Safety Challenge at USA-SOS.org. Third and fourth grade students from Hawthorn Elementary along with fifth and sixth grade students from Oak Ridge Intermediate are the National Champions for 2012.
Both schools have claimed the title of National Champions by participating against other schools in the country in the area of Safe Online Surfing.
The fall USA-SOS (Safe Online Surfing) Internet Challenge was administered from September through December 2012. During that time 20,248 students in 378 schools from 42 states reviewed the Internet Safety and Cyber Citizenship material before taking the SOS Post Quiz where they demonstrated what they had learned. Camdenton R-III students demonstrated a commitment to staying safe and using the Internet responsibly.
Of the ten times Camdenton schools have participated in the program, nine times they have walked away as National Champions, losing the sixth grade title by only two points in 2011.
