A Friday afternoon wreck in Morgan County prompted a Staff For Life helicopter evacuation. Eric Stringer, 44, of Gravois Mills was driving a 2000 Dodge northbound on Highway 5 near Santa Fe Road when he crossed the center lane and hit a 2007 Chevrolet driven by 42-year-old Lisa Van Lerberg, of Shawnee, Kan., head on. Stringer was not wearing a seat belt according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. An ambulance took Van Lerberg to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of her serious injuries. The report indicated Van Lerberg and her husband, 44-year-old Andrew Van Lerberg were both wearing seat belts. Andrew Van Lerberg sustained minor injuries in the crash.
