There sure has been a lot of print on the proposed Camelot Road District in the paper recently. From everything I’ve read, it seems that the people that use the roads in Camelot don’t want to pay their fair share for the maintenance. Maybe some of the Associations were offended that they weren’t consulted before it was put on the April ballot for a vote. I don’t know but it seems juvenile to say the least.
If the measure passes, some Associations don’t want to be included in Camelot – come on people we all live here. Let’s get over having our feelings hurt, look past the end of our noses and do what is best for Camelot as a whole and take positive action to get our roads maintained. We aren’t just helping Camelot, eventually everyone’s roads will need to have some work done and the county has the resources to do just that.
When this idea first came up, only the roads in Camelot were presented to the County. The county suggested adding Tuscany and Trinity Point to increase the tax base. Unfortunately when they were added, Camelot did a very poor job of communicating with Tuscany and Trinity Point about the upcoming vote. I agree that they should be excluded from the measure unless they want to be included.
The bottom line is that the roads are “not up to par” as stated in the paper and the roads will only continue to deteriorate. The road issue will not go away, it will only get worse. Do the only thing you can do, voice your opinion by voting on April 2.
