  • A Chili, Wing, and "Not Chili" Cook-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at the Lake West Christian Academy in Sunrise Beach. The cook-off, formerly held at the Osage River Bar and Grill, will add some spice to spring.

  • A Chili, Wing, and "Not Chili" Cook-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at the Lake West Christian Academy in Sunrise Beach. The cook-off, formerly held at the Osage River Bar and Grill, will add some spice to spring.
    Cook-off categories are: hot to mild chili, not chili (soup, stew or anything in a bowl that is not chili) and finally mild-to-wild sauced chicken wings.
    Professional chefs from top rated local restaurants and talented individuals will enter their culinary creations to vie for first place. Students and youth may also enter in the 18 and under category.
    Cook-off registration entails a free-will offering to LWCA. There is no entry fee for youth.
    Everyone is invited to enter the contest or just come and enjoy the "best of the best" food the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer. Admission to the event is non-perishable food items that will be donated to local food pantries.
    A bread and dessert bake sale will also be held during the cook-off. For more information or to register call Mark Shellenberg at the Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks at 573 348-0486, at ext. 2299.
