It was a shave and a haircut, but all total, it went for more than two bits.
C.F. Huff makes his annual contribution to the American Legion Post 624 Auxiliary in a rather unusual way.
Every year for the last six years, the Sunrise Beach resident lets his hair and beard grow out over the winter. Then on St. Patrick's Day, wife Susann sprays his hair and beard green before heading to the Post for its St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner.
It all gets cut off. Anyone who makes a donation is allowed to take a swipe or two with the razor.
Kids particularly have fun at the event, but some of the older people enjoy getting some "revenge" on Huff by cutting off as much they can get away with.
Huff's haircut raised about $110 for the auxiliary this year.
