The Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast seeks runners, walkers and sponsors for its 2013 "Run for the Beach" fundraiser, to be held on Saturday, April 13 in Lake Ozark. The eighth annual event benefits the Kiwanis Club's local programs. In 2012, more than 150 runners and walkers participated in the 5K and family-friendly 1K to raise nearly $7,000 for the Kiwanis Club.
Local supporters are encouraged to run, walk or stroll for the event. The Kiwanis 5K course begins and ends at Mills Elementary School. Pre-registration (by April 1) is $15. Race-day registration is $20. Registration forms and more information may be found at www.ozarkcoastkiwanis.org.
All funds raised by Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast stay in the local area. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The local club annually supports emergency relief for local children and families, as well as makes numerous local projects possible, such as the Terrific Kids Program at Mills Elementary, Builders Club, four $1500 annual college scholarships, Key Club at Osage High School and more.
In 2012, platinum sponsors for the event included HyVee, Spa Shiki and Baxter's Lakeside Grille. Gold sponsors were Bank Star One, Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks and Lake Regional Health System. Numerous silver sponsors also contributed to the fundraiser.
The Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast has helped area families since 1988. They meet every Thursday at noon at Port Arrowhead on Business 54 in Lake Ozark. For more information on the club, please visit www.ozarkcoastkiwanis.org.
