Lake Regional Health System joined hospitals nationwide in celebrating National Nutrition Month throughout March.
The theme this year, “Eat right, your way, every day,” encourages personalized healthy eating styles while recognizing that food preferences, lifestyle, cultural and ethnic traditions and health concerns all impact individual food choices, according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Lake Regional employs seven registered dietitians who counsel patients with a variety of health concerns on how to improve their life through nutrition.
The dietitians and dietary staff promoted healthy eating throughout the month, providing healthy options and information in the cafeteria and coffee shops, including a breakfast demonstration March 1.
Lake Regional offers a variety of educational programming topics during the year, such as diabetes, heart disease and childhood obesity. Several health fairs and screenings also are held annually throughout the lake area. For information on upcoming events, visit lakeregional.com/events.
