The voluntary annexation of a condo complex into the Lake Ozark city limits moved one step closer after an uncontested public hearing on the request by homeowners.
The Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen held a public hearing Tuesday night during its regular meeting, and there were no written or oral objections presented.
The Lighthouse Pointe Condominium Owners Association, Inc., filed an annexation petition requesting to be brought into the city limits. The condos are located on Lighthouse Road on the North Shore.
City Administrator Dave Van Dee said the complex includes an estimated 108 residential units. He said the annexation should not have a significant impact on city services. No additional streets are included. The primary wastewater lift station was upgraded to city standards recently and will be the only facility on the site coming under city responsibility.
The annexation will result in a decrease in water and sewer revenues of about $16,731 which represents the current annual non-residential rate of their utility payment to the city. However, the city will get about $14,000 in new general fund property tax.
Van Dee said the annexation will add to the city’s tax and population base while not significantly adding to calls for service and maintenance.
The aldermen will consider an ordinance at a future meeting officially accepting the complex into the city limits.
The final set of paperwork on Rt. 242 was completed when the aldermen approved a resolution authorizing final payment of $14,874 to Bacorn Enterprises for its grand administration services for the Community Development Block Grant.
This will position the city to use CDBG funds on future projects.
Through a partnership with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Horseshoe Bend Transportation Development District, the city received $4 million in funding through the CDBG.
Bacorn Enterprises was contracted in the amount of $59,500 for administration services.
