A warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old Stoutland man on the charges of having sexual contact with a student by teacher. Trevor Dwight Franklin was employed by the Richland School District as the assistant high school girls' basketball coach when he allegedly had contact with a minor.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, the victim obtained Franklin's cell phone number during basketball season in order to ask him questions concerning the sport. The exchange of text messages began on November 15 and continued through November 30. More than 4,300 messages were shared during that time period with more than 400 more sent to the victim by Franklin than she sent to him.
According to the victim, soon after the text exchanges began, he starting talking about sexual topics in his messages. She told officials that the sexual comments made her uncomfortable and she referred to Franklin as a 'creeper.' The victim also told officials that she felt as if Franklin led her to believe that he was interested in her romantically and went so far as to tell her that he planned on divorcing his wife after the first of 2013.
The victim went on to tell law enforcement officials that Franklin frequently discusses engaging in sexual acts with her even though she told him that she would not have sexual intercourse until she was married. Franklin also allegedly expressed interest in having a long term relationship with the victim and even spoke of the two moving in together after she graduated from high school.
The Missouri Highway Patrol report states that Franklin kissed the victim on two occasions. One kiss occurred at a fast food restaurant and the other on the Richland High School grounds when school was not in session according to reports. Franklin also allegedly held the victims hand on a school bus while traveling home from a basketball game.
Court documents describe a situation where the two planned a time for the two to be alone. Franklin asked the victim to meet him at his truck while at a basketball tournament in Laquey. The school's surveillance video system confirms that the two left the building together. While in the vehicle alone together, the two kissed and Franklin fondled the victim according to her. She even asked him to stop during their time alone in his truck which lasted five to ten minutes.
--According to the victim, Franklin instructed her to delete all text messages sent and received between the pair. Of those messages, some were photos of the victim that she sent to Franklin after he asked her to. One was of her face and the other was of her in her bra and underwear.
The report contains graphic sexual language that Franklin used when speaking to the victim and others who knew of the relationship.
