Former Camdenton Laker Kyle Simpson has been busy in the baseball world since leaving high school, and just a few weeks ago, Simpson exploded for the Griffons in their games against Emporia State.
In a three-game sweep of the Hornets, Simpson had seven hits, four of which came in the first game. He had a triple, home run and two singles with three RBI and three runs scored. In their 12-2 win over the Hornets on Feb. 17, Simpson went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored.
After the stellar performance, Simpson was named the MIAA NCBWA Central Region Hitter of the Week. Simpson’s current batting average for the Griffons this season is an impressive .449. The team is currently 9-3 on the season, undefeated in their conference, and on an eight-game win streak.
