  • Local volleyball club teams take home first and second place medals

  • The Lake of the Ozarks Volleyball Club 18 year old division played a final "retirement tournament" on Sunday, March 3 at Drury University in Springfield. The team played in a division with 18-year-olds from the Springfield area. The team was undefeated in their pool play beating out three teams from Springfield area. With the first place seeding, they went on to beat the 2nd place team in the other pool. They won two of the three sets to go on to the championship game and finishing second in the gold division.
    This group of girls have been playing club volleyball in the off season since their 7th grade year. The "Barracuda" team wanted to finish their high school year with one final "retirement tour" tournament. Sherrie Williams has been the director of the club since day one and coached these girls in their final tournament.
    The 15 year old Lake of the Ozarks Volleyball Club (LOVBC) team, comprised of 8th and 9th grade girls, played in the surrounding area at HOA tournaments on March 3rd at Lebanon Winterfest. This team placed first in the Silver bracket.
