  • With record enrollment in the current session, Columbia College Lake of the Ozarks campus is continuing to see growth like never before.
"The lake campus has experienced outstanding growth the last decade including a 10% jump in the last two enrollments," Sam Fleury, Senior Communications and Alumni Relations Coordinator, said.
The lake campus was established in 1990 with a total of 54 students enrolled. The current session has 1,315 students enrolled.
"I believe two key factors for that growth have been our outstanding faculty members and the lake business community," Fleury said. "We are extreme appreciative of the support we have received from the lake community."
In order to grow and meet the needs of their students, Columbia College offers more than 50 in seat classes and more than 800 online courses.
"Convenience and access are two huge factors for our students," Fleury said.
Columbia College has two distinct categories of students. 50 percent are traditional students including 18- to 24-year-olds and the other 50 is made up of non traditional 25 years and older students.
More than 60 percent are female. Most students drive to the lake campus from Camdenton, Osage Beach, Eldon and Iberia.
The lake campus prides itself on offering a 15 to one student to teacher ratio and is home to 45 instructors with 340 combined years teaching experience.
If residents are looking for a way to get back into school or continue their education, the March session is now open for enrollment. The eight week session begins on March 25. Students can register up until Friday, March 29.
The lake campus offers eight associate and 11 bachelor in seat degrees and 23 associate, bachelor and master degrees.
Columbia college lake of the Ozarks will celebrate 23 years at the lake in October. Dr. John Keeney has served as director since the doors opened in 1990.
