Enjoyed painting and crocheting

Irene Dial, age 89, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Laurie Care Center.  She was born July 28, 1923, in Paragould, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Steve Thomas and Dolly Coin Elliott.

 She was united in marriage to Hubert “Hugh” Frank Dial, who preceded her in death on May 13, 2003.

 Irene was a member of the Laurie First Baptist Church.  Her favorite hobbies were crocheting, solving cross word puzzles, sewing and painting. 

She is survived by her sons, Carlos Dial of Camdenton, Jim Dial and wife Jan of Gravois Mills, Dan Dial and wife Arla of Osage Beach and Loren Dial and wife Karen of Breeze, Illinois; a daughter, Fern Putney of Sunrise Beach; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Slate and a grandson, Ernie Putney.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Pastor Marc Knapp officiating.  Graveside services and interment will follow in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, Missouri 63044 or to any Missouri Baptist Children’s Home of the donor’s choice.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
