Due to the winter weather expected to hit mid-Missouri tonight and tomorrow, the Missouri Department of Transportation is rescheduling a community briefing regarding the widening of Route 5 through Sunrise Beach.

Due to the winter weather expected to hit mid-Missouri tonight and tomorrow, the Missouri Department of Transportation is rescheduling a community briefing regarding the widening of Route 5 through Sunrise Beach.  The meeting, which had been scheduled to be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 21, will now be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6.  The meeting will take place in the cafeteria of Hurricane Deck Elementary School, 16594 North State Highway 5.

The project, which is a cooperative effort between MoDOT and the City of Sunrise Beach, calls for widening Route 5 to three lanes from Lake Road 5-36 to Jet Ski Road.

No formal presentation will be made.  The public may attend the meeting at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to speak with staff from MoDOT and view project displays.  In addition, the displays and project information presented at the public meeting will be available at www.modot.org/central the day after the meeting.
