  • The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing on Thursday, Feb. 21 to discuss the next phase of widening Route 5 to three lanes through the City of Sunrise Beach. The project would extend from Lake Road 5-36 to Jet Ski Road. The project is a cooperative effort between MoDOT and the City of Sunrise Beach.
    The public meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hurricane Deck Elementary School located at 16594 North State Highway 5. The meeting facility is accessible to people with disabilities.
    No formal presentation will be made. The public may attend the meeting at any time during the advertised hours to speak with staff from MoDOT. Various project displays will be available at the meeting and the public is encouraged to ask questions and provide input. All comments will be taken into consideration and made a part of the project file.
