There’s been a lot of discussion around gun control — increasing it, more regulations, second amendment rights, etc. recently.
Oddly enough one of the most striking points that essentially disproves the entire theory of more gun control is better has failed to surface in the media spotlights. In Chicago, home to our current president, gun control is the second tightest in the country, second only to Washington D.C.
If anyone cared to actually look at the facts, they would see, as the regulations tightened, the handgun related crimes increased.
Anyone wonder why the people who run this country ride around in armored motorcades surrounded by swarms of Secret Service agents?
These two cities sport the highest crime rates in the U.S. And yet, our president would make you believe that more gun control is better. I agree, but, better for whom? The criminals? Whose side is the president on anyway.
People who supposedly are intelligent, even carry prestigious titles like ‘Professor’ have weighed in on this forum and provided some incredibly short-sighted and inaccurate information.
People owe it to themselves to do their own research, not necessarily believe every silver tongued writer, regardless of their titles.
Our country is suffering from a number of issues today, least of which is a need for more regulations or laws. Our economy is in the toilet, regardless of what Obama says.
More people are out of work than ever before, regardless of what Obama says.
We’ve sustained attacks on two embassies where American people died.
And to hear Obama, he knew little about it and thought the attacks were caused by a Youtube video. Wow, really?
Again, I ask, whose side is he on anyway.
So far, we have received a lot of rhetoric from the same man who wants to apply more rules to how we defend ourselves.
I wonder exactly what it will take for America to sit up in their government provided chairs, while drinking their government provided beers and watching their government provided TVs and eating government provided processed food before they wake up and realize that, while they were being pampered by our government they lost all of their freedom and rights as defined by the constitution.
If anyone doubts to what low level our current administration will stoop to further their agenda, take a look at the illegal, unconstitutional appointment of three labor board leaders Obama did under the auspices that Congress was on recess.
Page 2 of 2 - The Supreme Court has ruled this unconstitutional and illegal, yet these three still sit in their offices, collecting their government pay checks and making rules that will be reversed by the Supreme Court as fast as they are signed.
Until such time as our law enforcement agencies are sufficiently empowered and staffed to apply existing rules to gun toting criminals (wonder how many background checks are performed when guns are bought and sold on the street corners of Chicago or Washington D.C.?), the last thing this country needs is more regulations that limit what law abiding people do. I’m not a professor, nor am I a politician but at least I can figure that out for myself.
Fed up with government!
