Elmer Leroy Willrett, 84, of Kaiser MO passed away at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach MO January 19, 2013. He was born March 28, 1928 in DeKalb IL to Wm. Elmer and Helen Marie Culbertson Willrett. He and Ellen Garman were married in 1949 and celebrated 61 years together before her passing in 2011.
Following graduation from Sycamore High School, Sycamore IL, Elmer served in the US Air Force from 1946-1948. He and Ellen farmed for many years prior to moving to Osage Beach in 1972 where they owned the Wishing Well Resort and the Knack Shop. He also worked at Carl’s Market. In retirement, he and Ellen enjoyed living in FL with their son. He was a devoted husband and father. Elmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, and music –singing, playing the guitar, and dancing.
He was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church, Olean MO.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Willrett of Leesburg FL and Gill and Kim Willrett of Lebanon MO, and two daughters, Mary and Scott Bechtold of Cape Girardeau Mo and Sharon and Matt Paterson of Kaiser MO; nine grandchildren, John (Mendy) Bechtold , Ruth (Jon) Bussey, Amy (Dax) Cogdil, Jennifer (Jared) Jokerst, Andy Paterson, Levi (Michelle) Paterson, Sam (fiancé Kayla) Paterson, Christopher Willrett and Jessica Willrett; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a sister, Joyce Willrett.
As he requested, there was no funeral service.
