On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Camdenton seniors Morgan Haas and Abi Williams signed their letters of intent to play volleyball at Central Methodist University next fall. Williams will also do track for the Eagles.
After attending separate volleyball tryouts earlier in the year, the girls knew CMU was the right fit for them.
"I really liked the campus," Williams said. "It felt very home-like, and as soon as I met the coaches and team, they were just so nice, and it made me feel at home, and I knew I was supposed to go to that school."
"I was very nervous when I attended the tryouts, but everyone on the team was so welcoming, and it just felt right," Haas said.
Williams plans to major in nursing while attending CMU, while Haas plans to go into dentistry, and will start by going pre-professional.
As for CMU, they will receive two talented athletes to their rosters.
"As a head coach, these two are my first girls to ever sign anywhere," Camdenton coach Austin Warren said. "They are getting two-top-notch girls. Both are great kids on and off of the court, who bring a lot of excitement and athletically, they work hard, which is exactly what every coach wants."
