It’s time to start planning your entry for the 4th annual “Chocolate for Charity” taste-testing and auction scheduled for Saturday, April 27 beginning at 5 p.m. The event will be at the Community Christian Church on Business Route 5 in Camdenton, and hosted by the Sharing and Caring Foundation of Camden County.
This fund-raiser is open to the public, with both amateur and professional divisions. Any individual, group or business is encouraged to participate simply by completing the application below. In lieu of an entry fee, participants are requested to supply one complete item for the auction that takes place after the taste-testing. Entrants will be competing for awards and “bragging rights” for the tastiest entry!
A panel of local celebrity judges will determine the top three places based on taste, texture, aroma, creativity and eye appeal in each of the two divisions. Each person attending the event will be voting for the “People’s Choice” award. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., Rick Bryant of Bryant’s Auction will sell one complete item of each entry and the auction is open to the public. There will also be a silent auction of donated items during the event.
In addition to the taste-testing and auction, there will be an activities area for children, including face painting and a “Chocolate Walk.” Along with the chocolate, there will be popcorn, soda and light supper items available.
All proceeds from the Chocolate for Charity will be used by the Sharing and Caring Foundation and distributed to non-profit groups within Camden County.
