  • The Berry Best Book Club will host a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m., at the new Yankee Peddler Tea Room, located in Main Street Landing, in Osage Beach.

  • The Berry Best Book Club will host a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m., at the new Yankee Peddler Tea Room, located in Main Street Landing, in Osage Beach.
    The book club will discuss Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, a master of style.  This New York Times Bestseller is original fiction that reveals how people’s lives intertwine, and how their souls drift across time like clouds across the sky.  
    It is an exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future.  Yes, we are going deep babe.
    This book is discounted at Stonecrest Book and Toy.
    Individuals interested in attending the book club meeting, call Yankee Peddler Tea Room at 573-348-5045 and make a lunch reservation.
    Individuals unable to attend the meeting can mark their calendars for Sunday, Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. where the book club will meet and discuss The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon.  
    The Story of Beautiful Girl is a New York Times Bestseller that takes place in 1968.
    Lynnie is a young, white woman with a developmental disability.  Lynnie and Homan, a deaf African American, have been left to languish in an institution.
    Deeply in love, the couple escape to a farmhouse of Martha, a retired schoolteacher and widow.  
    The three of them are not alone.  Lynnie has just given birth to a baby girl.  
    They are then discovered.

    The Berry Best Book Club is not the usual book club where you have to take a month each year and and present your book to the other club members.
    Jan Berry does the presentations and members are attend and enjoy book discussions with other fellow readers.
