The race for two positions on the Camdenton school board is on. A final flurry of filings gives voters a choice of five candidates to fill two positions on the board in April.
The Camdenton school board is considered to be one of the most important upcoming elections. The district recently lost one of it top administrators and has been at the center of discussions.
Up until Monday, Jan. 14, three candidates, including two incumbents looking to retain their seats, had filed to run.
On Monday, Bill Moulder, of Camdenton, stepped forward to run. Moulder has ran for a seat on the board in previous elections. On the last day of filing, Tom Williams also filed to run. Williams ran in the 2012 school board election.
Current board president Nancy Masterson and Jim Besancenez re-filed to run in December along with Darin Keim.
School board members are elected at-large with the candidates receiving the highest number of votes district-wide winning the seats.
A final list of all filings will run in the Thursday Lake Sun print edition. On Wednesday, check out LakeNewsOnline.com for the latest in filing news.
